1. Liturgical texts

The Hebrew liturgical texts follow Nusach Ari; the liturgy itself is in the public domain. The Hebrew text of the siddur is taken from the “Siddur Chabad” of Hebrew Wikisource (he.wikisource.org), as published by Sefaria (sefaria.org), and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence (CC BY-SA). Madrega's arrangement of that text (division into lines and phrases) is offered under the same licence. The Hebrew text of the Book of Psalms (Tehillim) is the Westminster Leningrad Codex (tanach.us), in the public domain.

2. Translations, transliterations and explanations

Where it matches the Hebrew, the English translation of the siddur is based on The Metsudah Siddur by Avrohom Davis (1981), published by Sefaria under the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY), and has been edited by Madrega. The English translation of the Book of Psalms is The Holy Scriptures according to the Masoretic Text (Jewish Publication Society, 1917), in the public domain. All other translations into English, Russian and Spanish, the transliterations and the word-by-word explanations are original works.

3. Stories and teachings

Holiday stories and mentor messages are original retellings of the Torah, the Talmud, the Midrash and the commentary of Rashi, which are in the public domain.

4. Artificial intelligence

Answers of the AI mentor and the support assistant are generated by the Claude model of Anthropic, PBC, under Anthropic's commercial terms.

5. Synthesised voices

All voices in the app are synthesised and do not belong to real persons. The voices of the mentors and of the prayer reader are generated in advance from the texts of the app with Microsoft Azure AI Speech neural voices, including voices offered in preview, and with Google Cloud Text-to-Speech voices (Chirp 3 HD), under the Microsoft Product Terms for Azure AI Speech (for preview voices also the Supplemental Terms of Use for Microsoft Azure Previews) and under the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service with the Service Specific Terms for Cloud Text-to-Speech, respectively. No personal data of users is transmitted to these services.

6. Fonts

Onest, Unbounded, Noto Serif Hebrew and Secular One are used under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.

7. Calendar and halachic times

Hebrew calendar dates are computed using Unicode CLDR data, licensed under the Unicode License v3. Candle-lighting, nightfall and other halachic times are computed using the KosherZmanim library, licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 (LGPL-2.1). The source code of KosherZmanim is available at github.com/KosherJava/zmanim. City search uses the Open-Meteo Geocoding API with GeoNames data, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).
